Focus and Scope
The Asian Journal of Muslim Philanthropy and Citizen Engagement is an academic journal dedicated to the exploration and in-depth analysis of Muslim philanthropy, citizenship, and the active role of society within the social and cultural context of Asia. The journal aims to deepen the understanding of how Islamic traditions of philanthropy and citizenship intersect with the social, economic, political, and cultural dynamics in various Asian countries.
The primary focus of the journal includes key concepts in Islamic philanthropy, such as zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf, and their contributions to social development, community welfare, and poverty alleviation. The journal also examines community engagement through philanthropic activities, voluntary efforts, and public policies that promote collective well-being and strengthen social cohesion.
In addition to exploring the traditional foundations of Islamic philanthropy, the journal embraces a multidisciplinary approach by incorporating insights from various fields, including economics, sociology, political science, cultural studies, psychology, and management. This comprehensive scope allows for a deeper understanding of the multifaceted nature of philanthropy, examining how these practices contribute to individual and community development from different theoretical and practical perspectives.
By providing a platform for researchers, scholars, and practitioners, the journal encourages the sharing of original research findings and practical experiences that address the intersection of Muslim philanthropy and diverse societal issues. We welcome articles that explore both traditional and contemporary aspects of philanthropy, offering fresh insights into its role in improving the quality of life and fostering inclusive citizenship in Asia and beyond.
